This is a brand where two boots in the same family look nearly identical, sit $5 apart, and one of them has no safety toe in it at all. A marking like ASTM F2413-18 M/I/C EH encodes the standard revision year, M for male, I for impact resistance, C for compression resistance, and EH for electrical hazard. An older-format string like ASTM F2413-05 M I/75 C/75 spells the impact and compression classes out explicitly as 75.

Here is the problem specific to this retailer's Wolverine listings. Every safety-toe page in this set carries the same boilerplate spec-field string — "ASTM F2413-05 M I/75 C/75" — that contradicts the revision printed in that page's own description. Anyone who needs metatarsal or puncture protection. None of the seven listings state a Mt (metatarsal) or PR (puncture-resistant) designation. Not the ones covered here, based on what the listings actually say. The Working Person's Store listings for the 10643 Floorhand and the discontinued W231015 both state "Imported: Yes." Wolverine Worldwide's about page dates the company to 1883 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and references Rockford, Michigan as a historical manufacturing site — but that is heritage, not current sourcing, and none of the pages I fetched state a manufacturing country for these specific models. If US-made matters to you, verify SKU by SKU rather than trusting the brand's origin story.

What is the difference between Wolverine DuraShocks and Contour Welt?

They solve different problems. DuraShocks is comfort and cushioning — Wolverine's page says it "absorbs shock and returns energy to power you forward," implemented via a dual-density footbed plus compressing outsole pads and sidewalls. Contour Welt is about how the outsole is built and how it flexes: Wolverine claims it is "DESIGNED TO FLEX," uses a "Lightweight rubber lug outsole," and that "Bonded construction allows boot to flex but stay durable." That last word is the one to hold onto — bonded, not stitched. Despite "welt" in the name, do not assume a Contour Welt boot is resoleable. Some boots carry both technologies.

Is the Wolverine Floorhand a safety-toe boot?

Break the string down as printed. A marking like "ASTM F2413-18 M/I/C EH" encodes the standard revision year, M for male, I for impact resistance, C for compression resistance, and EH for electrical hazard. Older-format strings like "ASTM F2413-05 M I/75 C/75" state the impact and compression classes explicitly as 75.
